About Us
The Information Technology Division (ITD) of the Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supplies a full range of IT services to government ministries and agencies. It supports government customers with help desk, hardware and software, application development and IT security services. The ITD also sets government-wide policies and standards in IT infrastructure, IT support services and security.

The Opportunity
The Citizen Centric Program Delivery (CCPD) branch is seeking an individual who is an effective communicator, cross team collaborator with strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills for the position of DBA Team Lead. Reporting to the Director and Manager of the ASD unit within the Citizen Centric Program Delivery branch, you will be responsible for leading, supporting, developing and mobilizing the DBA team towards a shared purpose in the best interests of the branch, Government of Saskatchewan and service delivery to citizens. The primary purpose of the DBA role is to administer and manage database systems, ensuring that the reliability and integrity of these systems are maintained. The position will be responsible for configuration, maintenance, optimization, upgrades/update, and overall database performance and reliability of in-house, dedicated, and cloud-hosted solutions, as well as on customer-hosted solutions.
In this challenging and rewarding position your responsibilities will include:
Leading database design and architecture of large databases.
Creating and reviewing the current state of the database design and architecture with a focus on functional and performance optimizations.
Designing a future roadmap for Database platforms with a focus on increasing scalability, functionality, and robustness.
Working with the architecture and product group, define, lead, and execute on a defined path of moving legacy applications to the latest database technology platform.
Implementing and maintaining multiple database environments, including logical/physical design and modeling.
Supporting the product and architecture team to help define future product roadmaps and engaging in resolution of DB issues and DB analysis.
On Call support
Scheduling, recommending or approving leave and overtime.
Assigning, distributing, organizing, coordinating, and prioritizing subordinate’s work.
Monitoring the achievement of goals or objectives and ensuring quality and quantity standards are met.
Coaching for ongoing performance improvement and demonstrating job functions and procedures.
Resolving conflicts between staff.

The Ideal Candidate
As our successful candidate you will be a results-oriented individual with strong verbal and written communication skills and the experience below:
Completion of a degree in computer science or a related discipline.
At least 5 years’ experience managing\leading a Database Analyst team, as well as experience working as a Database Analyst.
Experience leading, training, and coaching staff.
Be approachable and flexible in dealing with clients and ITD staff from various divisions.
Previous experience with large Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) applications, such as Oracle E-business Suite R12.
Experience with Oracle Weblogic and Oracle Application Server.
