Job Summary
Under the supervision of the campground manager, this position serves customers visiting the Gordon Howe Campground by performing a variety of functions including reception, reservations, registration and assignment of sites.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Provides high-level customer service, including providing information about local events, attractions etc., in greeting and registering patrons visiting the campground.
2. Processes telephone reservations and on-site registrations following established guidelines.
3. Provides program and service information, including rates and fees, hours of operation, on-site amenities and visitor guidelines.
4. Responds to related enquiries and complaints in accordance with established policy and procedure.
5. Prepares balancing report, balances transactions to report, balances cash float and prepares a bank deposit.
6. Performs general office functions, e.g. updating reservation board.
7. Assists the manager with providing orientation and training to new staff.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education.
  • One year related cash-handling experience in a customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of accepted procedures for handling cash, balancing transactions and completing revenue collection reports.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Ability to interact with customers and remain calm when dealing with customers in stressful situations.
  • Ability to provide responsive customer service and to deal effectively and tactfully with the public and civic employees.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
  • Skill in the operation of an electronic cash register.

Requires Security Check
Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.

Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range: $19.83 to $21.87 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
