JOB TITLE: Behaviour Management Specialist (CG37)

SALARY : $34.05 - $38.04

JOB TYPE: Full Time Permanent

Central Residential Services Board is currently accepting applications for the position of Behaviour Management Specialist. The Behaviour Management Specialist is responsible for providing behavioural management support services and developing and overseeing behaviour management plans with individuals, their families and community organizations. The BMS will assess, develop, implement and evaluate intervention strategies, assist with case planning and management and provide education to residents and employees. The position ensures that all staffing models ensure program delivery and safety, and that all operational requirements are carried out in accordance with approved resident programs, legislation, and Department of Health and Community Services and Board policies.

The incumbent assists the team with resident referrals including arranging meetings with residents, family and a multi-disciplinary team to determine placement and develop transitions to the program.

The Behaviour Management Specialist is responsible for providing training and information services to assist with employee development in core competencies and skill building.

Qualifications:

General and Specific Knowledge:

  • Up-to-date behavioural and functional assessments, and developing applicable programs
  • Support, training and consultation techniques
  • Individual behavioural management programs, including planning and design
  • In-depth knowledge of behavioral treatment techniques
  • Crisis prevention and intervention

Formal Education and/or Certification(s): Undergraduate degree in Psychology

Years of Experience:

  • Minimum: 1 - 2 years

Preferred qualification: Training certification in the areas of Crisis Prevention Intervention.

The successful candidate must have exceptional decision making/problem solving, conflict management, organizational, as well as oral and written communication/interpersonal skills. Candidates must possess solid computer skills;

A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required for this position.

A satisfactory certificate of conduct from the RCMP or local police authority is required.

Use of private vehicle is a requirement.

Travel between Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor on a continuous basis will be a requirement of this position.
