Budget and Reporting Branch is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to provide financial analysis and advisory services within the budget and fiscal planning section.
You will be responsible for providing financial services to the various branches within the ministry. duties will include gathering budgeting information, preparing monthly and quarterly expenditure and revenue forecasts, financial analysis, tracking FTEs, calculating accruals, and responding to various inquiries from the branches.
You will be committed to the ideals of an accountable and well-performing public sector to identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
The ideal candidate will have outstanding organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of financial accounting, budgeting and forecasting principles and best practices, and knowledge of revolving funds and special purpose funds. The ability to think analytically and creatively to support the ministry's vision and to connect with the public service at all levels is essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to be detail-oriented and organized to manage large amounts of work accurately within strict timelines.
You will also have a demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team. Financial experience within the public sector environment would be an asset. The skills and knowledge for this position would typically be acquired through the completion of an accounting certificate or degree or a combination of education and work experience.
