Intern – Investment Analyst
Baker Gilmore & Associates, Montreal
Fall 2023 (September - December)
Baker Gilmore & Associates is one of Canada’s largest specialty fixed income managers, with a 34-year track record. Baker Gilmore is an affiliate of the Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd, a multi-boutique asset management firm whose affiliated companies collectively manage approximately $96 billion in assets.
Baker Gilmore is looking for an intern to join its Montreal based investment management team for a 4-month internship during the fall semester (September - December). This is a unique opportunity to work closely with a group of senior investment professionals and participate in all aspects of the asset management process including macro research, credit research & risk analysis.
What You Will Do
  • Work closely with portfolio management team to carry out projects that are related to our investment management process
  • Analyze sovereign bond rates, corporate credits, currencies, and relevant derivatives
  • Assist with model and tool development for use in the portfolio management process
  • Participate in the weekly Investment Management Committee meeting.
What You Bring
  • A degree (or pursuit thereof) in finance, mathematics, statistics, computer science, economics, or actuarial sciences with strong academic track record
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to think critically and creatively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (knowledge of a programming language a plus)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the desire to work as part of a small team
  • Enrollment in the CFA program is considered an asset, but not required
