Job Purpose & Responsibilities:

The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill the permanent, full-time position of Accounts Payable Clerk with the Corporate Services Department of the City of Cold Lake.


Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for providing financial and administrative support to the Finance Department in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.


The AP Clerk is responsible for accounts payable, and supporting utilities, taxes, accounts receivable, front counter reception, mail, filing, and other general office duties. The expectation of the AP Clerk is to assist with all aspects under the Finance portfolio in a team environment. This position is the front-line ambassador for the City and must maintain client confidentiality and a high standard of professionalism when carrying out various responsibilities.


Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Post-secondary certificate, 1-year in business or finance.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in Accounts Payable considered an asset.
  • Computer training in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Confidentiality and strong customer service focus.
  • The ability to communicate across the organization, including regulatory bodies.
  • Must be willing to provide a criminal record check and an annual diver’s abstract.
