This opportunity…

As the Graduated Driver Licence Coordinator, you play a critical role in supporting Road Safety within Yukon. You manage the day to day administration of Yukon’s Graduated Driver Licensing Program and examine, re-examine, license and evaluate new and experienced drivers in accordance with the provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act and Regulations. The decisions you make in your role directly impact all members of our territory. Driver examiners must have excellent time management and organizational skills and exercise superior judgment skills. We require individuals who can work independently, meet deadlines, and strive to achieve customer satisfaction in all aspects of their work.

Essential Qualifications (what we’re looking for in your resume):

  • Considerable experience providing quality customer service
  • Experience administering training and providing guidance
  • Experience working within legislation or policy frameworks to carry out effective customer service delivery
  • Commercial driver’s licence would be an asset
  • Previous driver/equipment training or examining would be an asset

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must possess and have maintained a valid, full Yukon Class 5 Driver’s licence for the preceding 2 years; Valid Class 1 driver’s licence to be obtained within 2 years of hire.
  • Must have a satisfactory driving record for the preceding 2 years, by providing a clean driving abstract before time of hire.

Job Requirements:

  • Work in variable working conditions (weather, customer vehicles, etc.);
  • Travel throughout Yukon,
  • Exposure to a variety of potential dangers due to driver inexperience and anxiety.
