Location: Calgary, Alberta

The big picture:
As a Payroll and Benefits Coordinator, you understand the importance of getting things right the first time. You thrive on meeting deadlines and are detail orientated. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll and administering benefits for our employees across Canada, in our federally regulated environment. This is an ideal position for someone looking for involvement in all facets of the payroll and portions of the accounting cycle.

In this role you will:
  • Prepare and process full-cycle payroll cycle in Ceridian Dayforce including:
  • Prepare and validate semi-monthly full-cycle Canadian payroll for approximately 280 salaried and hourly employees
  • Verifying employee timesheet data and other pay adjustments
  • Processing new hires, terminations, and employee status changes (e.g., compensation adjustments, leaves of absences)
  • Processing onetime adjustments to earnings, deductions, and memo calculations.
  • Administer the employee group benefits plan including processing new enrollments, updates, and terminations as required
  • Process new hires, changes, leaves, and terminations
  • Coordinate payroll remittances
  • Complete month end and year end reporting requirements, filings, and reconciliations
  • Provide prompt, friendly, customer service to all internal and external stakeholders on payroll related questions and requests
  • Remain current with government legislation to ensure compliance and that legislative changes are implemented in the payroll system
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A post-secondary Diploma in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • At least three years of full-cycle payroll experience in a multi-location company
  • Significant payroll processing experience utilizing Ceridian Dayforce
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, and superior Excel skills
  • Knowledge of payroll processes and procedures, benefits, federal employment standards, and taxation regulations
Bonus points if you have:
  • Accreditation from the Canadian Payroll Association as a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP)
  • Experience in the aviation industry
