Employment Status
Union - CUPE Local 402 - Regular Full-Time
Scope
This position is responsible for driving, operating and light servicing of a tandem axle truck with seasonal attachments and performing routine construction and maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
Some typical duties would include:
Loading, transporting and unloading materials, tools and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions.
Completing pre-trip inspection of equipment including checking oil, fuel levels, tires, lights, lubricating and safety operations.
Using various truck attachments such as a plow, sander, side delivery conveyor and water tank.
Keeping records of fuel levels and mileage.
Assisting crew members in performing their duties.
Assisting in performance of maintenance tasks and respond to inquiries from the public.
Qualifications
The successful applicants must have:
Completed Grade 12 and have previous driving experience on air brake equipped trucks.
A Valid Class 3 B.C. Driver’s License with air brake endorsement and have a safe driving record.
Conditions of Employment
This position requires completion of a Police Information Check.
Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.
