The opportunity


EY’s Health Consulting practice provides comprehensive performance improvement solutions to government, public and private health care organizations across Canada. These solutions are delivered across several strategic service offerings, which include clinical and operational performance improvement, technology and digital transformation (including EHR/EMRs, automation, virtual health, and analytics), program reviews, workforce strategy, major project/program advisory services, as well as system and care delivery model design and transformation. Our Health practice works closely and collaborates with our overall Government and Public Sector practice.

We are seeking a consulting leader for the role of Senior Manager. This individual will play a key role in leading teams and supporting the growth of our consulting business in British Columbia and across Canada.


Your Key Responsibilities


Lead large scale client engagements and the development of complex deliverables. Consistently deliver quality client services. Drive high-quality work products within expected timeframes and on budget. Monitor progress, manage risk and ensure key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes. Manage expectations of client service delivery. Stay abreast of current business and industry trends relevant to the client's business.

Effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds. Provide constructive on-the-job feedback/coaching to team members. Foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment. Play an active role in counseling and mentoring consultants within the organization.


Generate, pursue and close new business opportunities. Understand Ernst & Young and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to serve clients. Develop and maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with team members across all EY practices to serve client needs.

Demonstrate deep strategic thinking, technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Demonstrate ability to quickly assimilate to new knowledge. Possess in depth business acumen. Remain current on new developments in advisory services capabilities and industry knowledge.


To qualify for the role you must have

  • Master’s degree and/or approximately 8 years of related work experience; An emphasis in business, economics, or healthcare administration.
  • Health consulting or operational management experience, preferably with prior experience as an advisor in a consulting firm or in a senior management role within a healthcare organization
  • Strong, industry-relevant analytical and strategic capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and achieve goals within a complex environment.
  • Ability to work with C-suite level executives from client organizations
  • Ability to lead a team of consulting professionals on multiple and/or large-scale projects
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment (knows when to lead and when to follow)
  • Characteristics of a forward thinker and self-motivator that thrives on new challenges and adapts quickly to learning new knowledge
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • This role will be based in Vancouver or Victoria. Travel requirements may be up to 80% of work week.
