Reporting to and under the direction of the Supervisor, Development Construction, the Construction Inspector II’s primary duties include, but are not limited to:
providing on-site construction inspections of subdivisions and site plans to ensure compliance with applicable by-laws, regulations and standards;
inspection of site plans during construction and assumption process;
directing consultants, inspectors, contractors and dictating corrective action with respect to on-site problems;
assisting with other miscellaneous projects/assignments as required.

Our Construction Engineering team is looking for an enthusiastic, solutions-oriented team player. You are self-motivated, self-starting and utilize a proactive approach to work. You value partnerships. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with your experience enables you to skilfully build, establish and maintain positive working relationships. You demonstrate tact, diplomacy and sound discretion when working with a broad range of partners.
You are excellent at prioritization and time management and can work under pressure to meet deadlines. You have an uncanny ability to see the forest for the trees - you love to research and analyze complex issues, come up with innovative solutions and formulate data-driven recommendations.
You bring to the team your strong reasoning, analytical, numerical, research and presentation skills. You solve problems by identifying, gathering and processing relevant information. You demonstrate adeptness in negotiation and approach situations with the goal to improve communication, diffuse tension and resolve problems.
What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
a Civil Engineering Technician diploma from a recognized Community College;
a minimum of three (3) years of directly related civil engineering experience with emphasis on capital projects and subdivisions;
a certified member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT);
a working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); and
a valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence maintained in good standing with access to a personal vehicle.
What We Offer You
Salary: $62,026 - $77,532 per annum
