Position Overview: Reporting to the Supervisor of Solid Waste Services, the Solid Waste Services Operator plays a key role in creating a clean, vibrant, and sustainable community for all in Canmore. In this role, you are responsible for servicing and maintaining our “beyond curbside’ residential waste and recycling containers, pedestrian waste containers as well as collecting and transferring recyclable materials from depots to the new Materials Recycling Facility. If you are looking for an active, outdoor role that allows you to physically contribute to a sustainable Canmore, this is the role for you!

This is a 40 hour per week, 10 hour per day position (4 days on, 3 days off rotation) which affords great work life balance!

This is a seasonal term starting April 4, 2022 and ending October 3, 2022.

Attributes: To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be energetic, outgoing, physically fit and enjoy working in a strong team environment. You have at minimum a high school diploma (or GED equivalent) and must possess a clean Class 3 Driver’s License with Q endorsement. You have at least 1 year of experience with manual and outdoor work, have a proven mechanical aptitude and are physically fir and capable of heavy lifting, we would like to hear from you!
