This is a full-time indeterminate position, working 75 hours bi-weekly.

Reporting to the ADM, Corporate Services, this position is responsible for providing strategic leadership in the development of corporate policies, regulations and legislation related to resource development as well as strategic planning and risk management.

This position has a demanding and diverse portfolio which impacts the quality and timeliness of legislative and policy issue within EMR and is a key departmental liaison within and outside government on high profile initiatives. An important function of the role is the collaborative working relationships between the varied client areas, including the departmental senior management team and the ability to manage the prioritization and completion of diverse and sensitive projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g. Public Administration, Business Administration, Communications, Law, Political Science).
  • Recent experience managing human and financial resources.
  • Significant experience leading legislative, management board and Cabinet processes.
  • Significant experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations on complex issues to senior management.
  • Experience with strategic planning and risk management.


Candidates who have education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above will be equally considered.

Candidates will be expected to demonstrate their competence according to the standards set within the Yukon Government Core Competency Framework.

Job requirements: Willingness to travel within and outside the Yukon.
