The LDB is one of two branches of government responsible for the cannabis and liquor industry of B.C. We operate the wholesale distribution of beverage alcohol and non-medical cannabis within the province, as well as the household retail brands of BC Liquor Stores and BC Cannabis Stores.

Finance is separated into six work groups (Finance Corporate, Corporate Audit, Finance Wholesale, Regulatory and Compliance, Finance Retail, and Shared Services) and provides financial services to all LDB departments. The Finance division provides financial reporting, advisory services, budgeting, capital asset reporting, and financial transactional processing (banking, accounting payable, accounts receivable). Finance is responsible for the LDB’s enterprise risk management program and oversees regulatory compliance for BC liquor manufacturers/warehouses.

The Finance Retail Clerk performs a variety data clearing, adjustments and account/transaction financial reconciliations related to inventory management activities arising from the $1 billion dollar in annual sales made by the BC Liquor Stores across the province.

Working conditions include ability to work outside regular business hours to meet deadlines, as needed. A criminal record check is required.

Position Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent, related experience* providing financial and administrative services.
  • Recent, related experience must include the following within the last five years:
  • Performing data clearing, adjustment, reconciliations and monitoring key financial controls.
  • Providing day-to-day support to internal clients in response to inquiries and to provide financial issues resolution services.
  • Experience using financial computer software programs, analysis and reporting tools (i.e., Oracle eBusiness).

Preference may be given to candidates with the experience in the beverage alcohol industry/supply chain or wholesale/ retail operations.
