The Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety has an opportunity for a highly-motivated and organized individual to fill a permanent part-time float pool position in laundry/stockroom/quality assurance at the Regina Correctional Centre (RCC).
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation of central laundry/stockroom/quality assurance. Responsibilities include training, instructing and supervising offenders in the collection, laundering and delivery of inmate institutional clothing and bedding, as well as maintenance of the laundry schedules and commercial laundry equipment; distribution of supplies and contingency uniforms, as well as maintaining the inventory control system and detailed ordering and receiving reports.
As the successful candidate, you will have knowledge of human behaviour, the criminal justice system and security procedures, as well as WHMIS, First Aid/CRP, communicable disease precautions and material management.
You should also have knowledge of motivational and instructional methods to demonstrate, train and teach offenders. You will also need to successfully complete a security skills/orientation program offered through RCC.
