CLIENT SUPPORT SPECIALIST (BAND LEVEL 6)

Centre for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL)
(Two Contractual Positions to March 31, 2022)

DUTIES

The client support specialist is responsible for providing front line technical support to Memorial University’s students, faculty, staff, and external clients. This position supports all learning technologies used in the delivery of both on campus and online courses. Duties include providing just in time support for Memorial’s Learning Management System (Brightspace) and its integrated tools including web conferencing software, e-portfolios, and more. The successful applicant will be responsible for Brightspace administration including account management, site creation, and enrolment; technical support involving troubleshooting problems related to hardware or software issues; providing advice and recommending technology solutions to problems, and providing how-to instructions on supported technologies; responding to general university inquiries on admission, registration, programs, course offerings, and examinations; and performing other related duties as required. Support is provided by telephone, email, live chat, and in person. Some work from home, and some evening and weekend work is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Some experience (up to 1 year) in a technical help desk environment; completion of most coursework towards a degree in arts and/or education supplemented by coursework in information technology; or any equivalent combination of experience and training. Knowledge of Brightspace administration, or other Learning Management Systems, both at the server and course level, is desired. Knowledge of other learning technologies would be considered an asset.

SALARY
$43,871 - $61,520 per annum (CUPE Local 1615)
