Job Description/Duties:

Specific Skills

• Operate cash register; Suggestive selling;
• Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments;
• Scan items; Tabulate total payment for goods or services required;
• Receive payment for goods or services;
• Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales;
• Stock shelves and clean counter area; Greet customers;
• Wrap or place merchandise in bags;
• Weigh produce and bulk foods;
• Provide customer service;
• Participate in promotional activities;
• Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products;
• Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary
• Business Equipment and Computer Applications : Price scanner; Electronic cash register; Interac machine
• Work Setting : Hotel, motel, resort; Supermarket/grocery store
• Security and Safety : Bondable; Criminal record check
• Free private accommodation
  

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities :

• Fast-paced environment; Work under pressure; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Attention to detail; Combination of sitting, standing, walking; Standing for extended periods; Bending, crouching, kneeling.

Full time hours with 35-40 hours a week.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Languages : English
• Education : Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
• Experience : At least 6 months work related experience
• Work Location Information : Willing to relocate
• Personal Suitability : Flexibility; Accurate; Team player; Excellent oral communication
