Position: Inside / Outside Equipment Rental Salesperson

Nature of Work:

Responsible for marketing, promoting and profitability selling products and services to existing and potential customers.

We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience with various types of rental equipment. Knowledge in Generators / Propane and Natural Gas an asset. Ideally candidates would come with a list of current and potential clientele related to our industry and ready to contact.

Position Tasks & Activities:

  • Prepares and maintains up to date call reports
  • Prepares and maintains up to date sales records
  • Completes all paperwork required in a timely manner
  • Coordinates equipment reservations
  • Makes cold calls to solicit new business
  • Meet with existing clientele building relationships in order to grow profitable sales
  • Make personal sales calls at customer sites on a regular basis
  • Promotes rental concept on sales calls
  • Encourages order building to clientele
  • Executes sales efforts in an ethical and professional manner, ensuring a favorable impression of self and company
  • Organizes calls
  • Follows up on generated quotations to assure that the customer is being serviced and to document the outcome of the proposal
  • Cooperates with qualified suppliers to secure mutual business through joint calls
  • Prepares sales aids
  • Follows up on sales leads in a timely manner
  • Assists with overflow from counter personnel and any delivery and pick up of equipment
  • Instructs customers on safe equipment operation
  • Prepares daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Attends sales, store and safety meetings
  • Assists with after hour sales calls and emails
  • Assists customers with problem solving, off rents, project layout and pricing
  • Coordinates customer returns and completes proper documentation in a timely manner
  • Creates and reviews with Manager the catalogue for updates, creates flyers
  • Recommends equipment purchases to the Manager
  • Maintains a professional image/appearance
  • Networks with other industry professionals
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form
  • Comply with government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store
  • Perform other duties as requested


  • Out of town travel will be required
  • Some evenings and weekends may be required.
  • Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract will be required

Expected start date: 2021-09-01

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to $100,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

  • Commission pay
