Copper Niisuu Limited Partnership (CNLP) is a partnership between the White River First Nation and its development corporation, WRDC, operating the business as the General Partner. CNLP is currently developing renewable energy and mining sector opportunities as it establishes itself in the Yukon business sector.

We are looking for an individual to work with the Board of Directors to continue the exploring growth opportunities in alignment with its strategic plan.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include leading the development and implementation of the business plan and managing the day to day operations of the business. The position will identify business opportunities and prepare business cases to support recommendations to the Board of Directors as well as ensure successful implementation of approved business opportunities. In addition the GM position will ensure the adherence to good corporate governance practices.

The ideal candidate will have many of the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Business from a recognized university and/or an acceptable specialization in business management, commerce, finance or accounting or other specialty relevant to the position. An equivalent combination of education, training and business experience working in economic development, marketing, economics and/or community development. With a minimum 10 years working experience.
  • Experience identifying, analyzing, evaluating and developing potential business opportunities, both standalone or via partnerships.
  • Knowledge of the resource/mining industry.
  • Experience with capital and operating budget development and management, ability to manage the financial performance of a department or program. Experience overseeing expenditures within budgets, identifying variances, setting targets and managing goals.
  • Successfully leading and managing complex, multi-faceted projects and operations, with significant experience and proven track record in budget planning and management.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate diverse areas of management; sound experience in governance, financial and personnel management, communication, planning and evaluation.
  • Significant related experience in senior administration, human resource management and leadership in for-profit corporations, First Nation government or other organizations.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills and a demonstrated ability to foster a working environment based on trust, respect and teamwork.
  • An understanding of the governance required to ensure compliance with all fiscal, regulatory and legal requirements
  • Experience leading in a start-up Organization
