Job Information

Under the direction of the Minister of Health and Social Services, the NTHSSA is established to move toward one integrated delivery system as part of the government's transformation strategy.
The NTHSSA provides and supports the delivery of health care services to adults and children on an inpatient, outpatient, and outreach basis in order to enhance healthy communities and well-being through excellence, accountability and respect for reginal diversity.
Located at the Community Health Centre, the Screener will report directly to the Nurse in Charge (NIC) and will work at checkpoints near the entrance to verify eligibility for entrance for all persons' entry into the Health Centre and Health Centre clinics; screen for symptoms, and refer individuals for secondary screening if required. Hour of work will vary and may include evenings and weekends.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge, and/or the ability to acquire knowledge, and apply health and safety practices
Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of infection control protocols
Customer service and conflict resolution skills
Interpersonal and clear communication skills
Ability to be discreet when handling confidential information
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
Completion of Grade 12. Relevant work, or volunteering experience, in a healthcare environment is preferred.
