Raymond James Ltd. is seeking a student enrolled in an undergraduate program in Management, Business or Marketing to work in our Kelowna branch as part of the co-op program. Throughout the internship, you will share experiences with different team members ranging from Branch Manager to Financial Advisors, participate in learning, development and mentoring sessions while adding value through your unique and fresh perspective by leveraging on your academic learnings.

Under the mentorship of the Branch Manager, you will be helping them develop the branch’s online presence and further their competitive recruiting efforts. Under a safe learning environment, you will be assisting with redesigning the branch website, developing and implementing the new social media strategy, interviewing and obtaining quotes from videography companies and developing scripts for marketing and promotional videos. You will also get excellent exposure to recruiting and event-management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifying opportunities for branding, partnership, sponsorship and speaking opportunities for the branch manager;
  • Researching and brainstorming new marketing tactics and events;
  • Assisting in marketing and recruiting campaigns as well as event recaps;
  • Drafting and managing distribution of client marketing communications, including email, website, and common social media channels;
  • Building and updating media lists for marketing and recruitment activities;
  • Creating engaging social media content and brainstorming new social initiatives; and
  • Assisting with other projects as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of

  • MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook;
  • Social media applications like LinkedIn, Twitter, etc; and
  • Website maintenance, HTML and Photoshop an asset

Skill in

  • Analytics;
  • Written, verbal and interpersonal communication; and
  • Organization and time management.

Ability to

  • Prioritize;
  • Multitask;
  • Work in a dynamic team environment and demonstrate a professional and friendly manner; and
  • Show flexibility and willingness to assist others as required.

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements

  • Minimum three completed years of study with classwork related to business, finance or marketing;
  • Experience with digital marketing is a definite asset;
  • General investment industry understanding an asset;
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics is an asset; and
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM is an asset.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course is an asset.
