Full Description

Reporting to the Corporate Director, External Relations and Executive Services, the Corporate Lead plays a leadership and support role in the CEO’s portfolio. This position provides leadership by anticipating, mitigating, and managing critical issues and actionable items within the office of the CEO and the office of the Corporate Director. The Corporate Lead serves as a key point of contact in the department to ensure information is prioritized, collected, collated and disseminated. The position is expected to develop work plans to identify and address issues, and act on behalf of, or serves on zone and provincial committees. The Corporate Lead supports and leads several projects within the Office of the CEO. This position works closely with the Executive Leadership, Senior Leadership, and Operational Leadership Teams, as well as key departments who regularly interact with the office of the Chief Executive Officer and/or the office of the Corporate Director, External Relations and Executive Services. The Corporate Lead will carry out additional responsibilities and other general duties as required, performing all responsibilities in accordance with Covenant Health’s Mission, Vision and Values.

Required Qualifications:

A Baccalaureate degree in health care management or business is required, accompanied by a minimum of four years health care, government or related experience required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Candidates must possess a demonstrated understanding and commitment to Covenant’s mission, vision and values, and have a high degree of independence in decision making and creativity. A clear vision of the health system and continuum of care is also required. Must intuitively understand the need to create win/win situations and be committed to presenting a professional, positive demeanour in all interactions. Must be flexible and able to determine and manage multiple competing priorities due to a wide variety of responsibilities. Must possess exceptional communication (written and verbal) skills, effective change management skills, and a demonstrated ability to promote teamwork, collaboration and partnership. Ability to adapt quickly and apply new learnings, and have a broad knowledge of planning and operations. Must have ability to maintain a professional level of diplomacy, confidentiality and tact in all activities, and function and thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment with a high level of complexity and pressure.


Preferred Qualifications:

Masters in health services administration, business, or other equivalent preparation is preferred. Project management experience is preferred. Health care experience and systems knowledge an asset. Experience in Diligent and/or SharePoint an asset.
