The City of Coquitlam has an exciting new position as a Strategic Analyst in our Business Services team. As a senior member of our team, the Strategic Analyst will make recommendations based on sound research to drive decisions to keep organization at the forefront of innovation. The Strategic Analyst will have specialized knowledge in conducting research for local government programs, services and policy including various policies, procedures and bylaws. You will develop and provide detailed recommendations which take into consideration established best practices and applicable legislation, analyze results and make recommendations on improvements to management for Council consideration.
This role requires considerable independent judgement in designing and implementing research methodologies to identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, industry best practices and trends in order to meet operational and program objectives.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for research, policy, analysis and strategic planning. The candidate will have graduated university in administration, business management, statistics or other related field plus a post graduate degree in a related discipline. Other certifications such as local government administration, project management or lean six sigma methodology is considered an asset. Any other related experience, preferably in a public sector; or an equivalent combination of training and experience is considered an asset.

The CUPE role offers an hourly rate of $49.61 - $58.74, an excellent benefits package and the opportunity to take part in the City’s earned day off program. This position is based in Coquitlam with some flexible, hybrid work options available.
