This temporary on call position is a great opportunity to learn about the business of mail operations, as well as the great jobs available at Canada Post. As a self-starter with a flexible schedule, you will have the opportunity to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and weekends in an environment only Canada Post can offer.
The successful candidate will:
- The operation and maintenance of commercial vehicles.
- The operation of material handling equipment.
- Receiving and accepting mail items.
- Sort, scan and sequence mail items.
- Transferring and loading a postal truck. )
- Transfers and dispatching of packages, and packets.
- Completes reports and documentation
Job Responsibilities (continued)
- A satisfactory driving record and an appropriate class of provincial driver's license are required for employment with the Canada Post when operating a commercial vehicle.
- The items weigh up to 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds). How are they used?
- As required, perform other postal clerk duties.
- A variety of sales/customer service activities to ensure complete satisfaction.
- No Experience necessary
- In a production environment, experience is an asset.
You will be required to pass a pre-employment test and an interview.
Please note that mandatory pre-employment assessments and job training may take place in third-party facilities such as clinics and hotels, where specific COVID 19 protocols are in place. Access to these third-party facilities will require compliance with any such protocols.
