Primary Responsibilities

Process applications for municipal planning, land use planning, and development agreements on a range of topics including multi-unit residential development; commercial development; and agricultural development.)

Organize public meetings to obtain feedback and present information about planning applications, projects, or activities. )

Provide staff reports and provide professional advice to the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) and the Board.

Research the implications of new policy changes with regard to municipal planning objectives and in consideration of social and economic impacts.

As assigned, undertake and manage a range of planning projects including working with consultants. Facilitation committees; co-operation in other government departments?

Negotiate and draft legal development agreements, including site design elements.

Candidate Profile

Completing a post-secondary degree in a related subject, with at least three years of related work experience.

The ability to work well in a team environment and alone, with superior organizational abilities.

The Canadian Institute of Planners: current members or eligible for membership.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, unionized position that is governed in accordance with the collective agreement between the Municipality of Kings and CUPE, Local 2618-01. Compensation includes a competitive salary and benefits plan - including a pension plan (8% employer & 8% employee match)! The minimum wage will be $37.27/hr -- $39.45/hr) Monday to Friday. Some evening hours will also be required.
