The Opportunity:
An Operations Accountant is currently employed by Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club. The role requires someone to be driven and committed to overseeing the club's financial operations, as well as developing an effective financial model that caters to the current and future needs of the elite private club.
The Club:
The Edmonton Petroleum Golf & Country Club is a personal club in Edmonton, Alberta that is exclusively for its members, associate members, their families, and invited guests. The course has undergone significant renovations throughout the years and now offers the best views in the city. It is poised to grow as the City of Edmonton's new residential communities become more accessible.
Position Overview:
Under the leadership of a General Manager, an Operations Accountant is expected to take control of the club's finances. This is not typically seen in Accountants positions at the company; the successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with members, guests, and all employees.
The ideal candidate for the Operations Accountant position must possess excellent communication skills and a natural aptitude for genuine engagement. They must also have exemplary customer service, provide outstanding service through passion, demonstrate innovation, communicate effectively with team members, and demonstrate resolute commitment to exceeding expectations.
The successful candidate will be paired with.
● General Manager
The senior management team (Superior Admin, Head of Golf, Membership & Marketing, and F&B Manager)
Our entire staff is available for seasonal and year-round employment.
Candidate Qualifications:
The required professional experience in accounting lasted for five to seven years.
A general computer literacy foundation with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
He has excellent communication skills in both written and spoken language. (
Knowledge of relevant Alberta and federal employment laws and practices is beneficial.
Strong analytical and overall business acumen (big picture) skills are desirable.
A background in a business setting, such as NFP, hospitality management, or Jonas Software, is advantageous.
Responsibilities:
To manage and control accounting, auditing; budgets; taxes; and record keeping. (If available).
The individual is in charge of the club's internal control and compliance.
The preparation of monthly financial statements, forecasts and analysis for all managerial tasks.
To collaborate with the club's designated auditorial team to carry out annual reviews.
Provide guidance to the club's financial committee and participate in monthly meetings. Additionally,
To manage taxation, compliance, and payroll filing.
Ensure efficient management of all payable and receivable accounts.
Understanding and managing the club's IT operations with our service provider.
