Manager of Primary Health Care and Medical Clinics Bonne Bay and Port Saunders
NL Health Services - Western Zone
Location to be determined (either Bonne Bay or Port Saunders)
Definition of Work: Reporting to the Regional Director of Primary Health Care, Chronic Disease Prevention and Management, the successful candidate will be accountable for providing leadership in planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating clinical program activities for medical clinics located throughout the Bonne Bay and Port Saunders Health Neighbourhoods.
In addition, there is responsibility for leadership of Primary Health Care (PHC) and Chronic Disease Prevention and Management (CDPM) in the assigned Health Neighbourhoods. The Manager is responsible for leading program management and planning, team building, monitoring clinical efficiency, implementation of initiatives to support improvements in the delivery of PHC services which are consistent with regional and provincial directions; lead a comprehensive approach to planning and service delivery of PHC services in the assigned Health Neighbourhood; chair the local Community Advisory Committees and Primary Health Care Team; and lead change management processes to support the establishment of a Family Care Team promoting collaborative practice across program areas and between health professionals and clients in the provision of PHC to improve access and health outcomes for residents across the Bonne Bay and Port Saunders Health Neighbourhoods.

Required Qualifications:
The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in a Health related discipline or Social Science. Proof of registration and licensure with good standing as a health professional is required. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years clinical experience in a related health discipline. Two - three years of progressive leadership experience would be an asset. Candidates will have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative leadership style, organizational, communication and decision-making skills as well as an ability to function in a diverse and changing environment. Preference will be given to applicants with a broad understanding of clinical processes, primary health care and change management.
Candidates must travel. They will be required to use a private vehicle as part of their job requirements. Note:

If no suitable candidate is found with the qualifications listed above, other levels of experience and training may be considered for this position. Those who do not hold a Bachelor's Degree are eligible to apply for the position within five years of appointment. Successful applicants must provide proof of registration or enrollment to an appropriate degree program within their first year of employment. Additionally, they must submit annual updates based on the progress of each semester of the program. What changes can I make?
Hours of Work: 70 Hours per pay period
0830-1630 Hours; Monday to Friday. Flexible hours required.
