This employment opportunity is restricted to government employees of the Province of Newfoundland who live in the province.
The Manager, Financial Services (Director), is responsible to design and manage the three regional offices' financial transactions in accordance with the policy of the Government of Canada and the Departmental policy and procedures that ensure unambiguous information is available when managing budgets. This position oversees programs and services that are delivered on a fair and consistent basis across the territory.
The manager supports the director by leading preparations and verification of receipts from revenue, commitments, payables, receivables, and tools and systems governing accounting operations and other financial services. The manager is responsible for planning, developing and managing new or improved financial practices, processes and policies to all regional offices and ensure unambiguous consistency in their application throughout the division.
The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this job are usually obtained through a recognized undergraduate degree in Business Administration or similar, plus three (3) years of related accounting and financial experience. Supervisory or management experience is also required to hold the position.
The official languages of Canada are English, French and German. Applicants may submit their resume in any one of the official languages of North America. Fluency in more than one form of the nautical language would be considered an asset.
