Position Summary
The home support assistant, who is reporting to the Home Support Coordinator, provides basic in-home support and assistance to seniors, the chronically ill and those with temporary medical conditions.
The primary role of this position will be to perform basic housekeeping duties for those individuals and families registered with the Home Support Program, including visit tracking. You will need to work independently, demonstrate good judgment and remain current on all necessary emergency procedures.'
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be team oriented and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Experience working with seniors and related equipment is an asset. The ability to listen and communicate effectively in a positive and courteous manner is essential. You will need to maintain current First Aid and CPR certification. All applicants require a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for providing their own transportation. Vehicle mileage will also be re-registered.
This position is within the scope of C.U., P.E., and E.E. Local 30. As such, you will be required to adhere to the articles contained within this collective agreement at that time." A current driver's license will also be needed for the successful applicant.
Hours of Work: Daytime shifts, Monday to Friday
This position is casual in nature and therefore the number of hours of work
cannot be forecasted.
