The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure is responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways. It also manages the planning, design and construction of government buildings by providing and sustaining sustainable infrastructure that allows for the safe and efficient movement of people, goods and services to the public. '
What you will do
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities: reporting to the permit office supervisor.
- Processing and/or handling of special permit requests to operate oversize, over-the-road vehicles on New Brunswick highways.
- Reviewing permit requests often involves the electronic screening of bridge capacity, construction detours and the application of safe traffic management practices.
- Providing technical support to permit applicants and other stakeholders involved in the transportation industry (i.e., NB Power, wood operations, municipalities, consultants, etc.).
This is a high volume demand position, which in the process is key to protecting our highway infrastructure and the public.
Work environment:
- Where is the office located at 440 King Street, New York?
- Open office layout.
- The standard hours of work are from Monday to Friday.

Essential Qualifications:
Engineering field level V: Engineering and field level 2:
- A diploma from a recognized post-graduate civil engineering technology program with a minimum of four (4) years related work experience.
- In the New Brunswick Society of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists, applicants must be a member or be eligible for membership.
- What is it like to work in Microsoft Office Suite?
- Valid class 5 driver's license as issued by New Brunswick province. )
If there are no applicants with the above essential qualifications, we may consider candidates with the following qualifications and appoint them at a lower class.
Engineering and Technology.. .

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

SALARY:
Engineering field level v and level 1.: $1,785.00 to $2,244.00 bi-weekly (based on a 36 ¼ hour work week).
Fields of Engineering: Level II and III.: $1,625.00 to $2,039.00 bi-weekly (based on a 36 ¼ hour work week).
Fields of Engineering and Technology.: $1,495.00 to $1,878.00 bi-weekly (based on a 36 ¼ hour work week).
