JOB SUMMARY
The Legislative Services Branch is responsible for establishing an Information Management Framework related to the Accessibility of Ontarios with Disabilities Act, including statutory reporting by the province, managing the City Archives to acquire and preserve civic government records that have long-term value for the city; and improving access to City services for people with disabilities. )
You coordinate the City of Ottawa's compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Intellectual disabilities (AODAs), by working with corporate and branch designates to oversee the implementation of annual accessibility plans approved by the Council, and by monitoring, coordinating and facilitating timely reporting on corporate-wide responsibilities to ensure compliance with regulated accessibility standards.'
You support the coordination and implementation of comprehensive, broadly targeted, and specific branch-level accessibility initiatives to meet the needs of the broader community and meet the requirements of the relevant federal and state laws. Ensure that accessibility projects are carried out in a resource-efficient and effective manner.
You also contribute to accessibility policy and practice development and maintenance, undertake policy reviews, best practice research and trend analysis and unambiguous analysis as required, interact with management and front line staff of the corporation, as well as public and private sector officials and ISPs. And serve as the coordinator for the Corporate Accessibility Working Group (CAG).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completing a four-year university degree in public administration, project management or a related field.
minimum 4 years of progressively responsible experience including strategic and operational planning, with at least 3 years in project management (complex and multi-modal) issues, policy development and UX research.
