The Vancouver Bylaws and Licensing Services Department is currently seeking a replacement full-time law enforcement officer to join its highly skilled team.

This is inspectional, regulatory and investigative work related to the enforcement of municipal law. The more difficult problems and policy matters are referred to by the manager of Bylaw & Licensing Services in a superior who reviews work performance for conformance to established policies and procedures and determines the effectiveness of enforcement operations.

The preferred candidate will possess post-secondary training in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field and will be considered to have strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates with equivalent combinations of education, training and experience are also expected to participate in the investigations and have experience with judicial proceedings.

Please note that successful applicants must have a valid Class 5 BC driver's license with a driving record indicative of responsible driving habits.

The successful candidate must provide a police information check and a copy of their credentials.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week (or 60 hours per day) of work.

Starting Rate of Pay:

$31.55 per hour (current rates) + 12% in lieu of benefits, plus taxes.
