Purpose


The Commerce Engineering Technology Team is looking for an energetic and results-oriented Business Systems Analyst to lead the analysis, design, and implementation of a multitude of solutions to solve complex business problems for our line of business.

As a Business Systems Analyst, you will be the bridge between our business partners and our engineering team, as well as maintain and support existing applications.


Accountabilities


  • Achieves a customer-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages greater bank connections, systems, and knowledge.
  • Analyze and translate these requirements into actionable plans and functional specifications, including business owners, product teams, and other technology teams.
  • Identify and address issues, bugs, or discrepancies during testing to ensure consistency and adequate testing coverage.
  • Provide information, analysis, and support as it relates to the team's infrastructure. Including flow diagrams, user/scientific reports, and confluence.
  • Identify opportunities for process/technical process enhancement, streamlining, and improving overall operational efficiency to drive productivity and effectiveness.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and leadership for the staff, as well as support with resource planning and recruiting, as well As providing insights into team member success and development goals.
  • Analyze reports to gather insights, measure trends, and make data-driven recommendations during the course of a company.
  • Learn how the bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day operations and decisions.
  • Actively pursues cost-effective and efficient operations of its respective segments in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while still ensuring that compliance, compliance, AML/ATF/Sanctions, and conduct risk are all factors that must be addressed.
  • Champions a high success environment and contributes to an inclusive work culture.


Education / Experience


  • Or relevant experience in the financial/IT industry or related industry.
  • Knowledge of system design, data modeling, and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • They have strong problem solving and analysis skills, as well as the ability to assess alternative solutions and offer suggestions and solutions to a multi-dimensional challenge.
  • Effectively plan and forecast resources, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to build consensus and gain support from stakeholders, as well as time management and organizational skills to effectively manage deliverables and budget planning.
  • Multiple tasks/priorities can be completed at the same time.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Visio, or equivalent, is an added advantage.
  • Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field may be a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Bachelor of Arts in Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
