The Ministry of Social Services, Saskatchewan Housing Corporation (SHC), promotes self-sufficiency and independence by providing housing and housing services for families, seniors, persons with disabilities and others who could not otherwise afford safe, secure shelter. The Housing Division of Social Services requires a skilled, confident and energetic individual with excellent organizational skills to work in our Regina office and provide comprehensive administrative support.
The candidate of choice will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to provide a variety of administrative support functions for the Housing Division. You will be a participating member of the administrative support team, which manages all administrative functions within the Division including providing work to a dedicated Housing Board of Directors, Ministry senior officials and Ministry stakeholders.
You will provide program information to clients, Ministry senior management and staff, other government staff, and government and non-government agencies. You will be expected to provide detailed program information and redirect calls as appropriate. You will be responsible for corporate purchasing and invoice payments; able to create, format and proofread a variety of documents including tables, reports, letters, memos and ministerial referrals; able to manage meeting and workshop logistics; and able to photocopy, scan and file documents.
Your time management skills and attention to detail will assist you in managing a demanding and changing workload while ensuring quality work and discretion when dealing with confidential information.
As the successful candidate, you must have the knowledge and ability to use a wide variety of computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheet applications, and databases in order to input and extract information and run specialized reports.
Typically, the knowledge and experience required for this position will be acquired through the successful completion of an office education certificate and/or several years of experience working in an administrative position.
