JOB SUMMARY:
We invite qualified individuals to apply for the position of Zoo Guest Services Attendant.
This position is a seasonal casual position working 32-40 hours per week from mid-April to early January.
Responsibilities consist of providing access and ensuring visitor satisfaction at the Magnetic Hill Experience. Also, will provide guest services and assistance at the Magnetic Hill Zoo admission and the Wild Things Boutique.
This position reports to the Guest, Retail & Administrative Services Coordinator.

WORKING AT THE CITY OF MONCTON:
The Magnetic Hill Zoo's 40 acre park provides a friendly environment for visitors to experience an appreciation for and connection to more than 70 indigenous and exotic species. The Animal Care team strive to provide excellent care and enrichment for the lives these animals. The Zoo is divided into four distinct areas: the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Discovery.
Throughout the year, the Zoo hosts special seasonal events and fundraisers. Educational programming is also available.
This position is a non-unionized position.
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in customer service is a requirement.
- Must have experience with handling transactions, processing cash, credit, or debit payments, selling tickets, depositing funds into the bank, and managing cash floats.
- Experience in a retail environment, such as gift shops, or boutique is an asset.
LANGUAGE:
- Must be functional in both official languages (English and French). As per provincial language proficiency standards, functional is determined to be at the Intermediate+ (2+) level or higher.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Basic computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office. Must be physically able to work standing up for long periods and lift
- 30lbs.
- Attention to details.
