Talent Acquisition Specialist

We are looking for a technology savvy, natural relationship builder who is keen to make a difference through applying their strong skills and experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist. Our Talent Acquisition team members are strategic business partners who find top talent from around the world to support Seaspan’s exciting projects.

Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.

What you’ll do

  • As a trusted advisor to the business, lead the full cycle recruitment process from intake meeting to candidate acceptance on a variety of roles including key strategic leadership positions.
  • Through the use of in-depth screening ensure candidates possess the right proficiencies, behaviours and skills, to be successful in their position with Seaspan.
  • Liaises with Hiring Managers throughout the recruitment process, to ensure candidate profiles align with position specifications and Seaspan’s strengths.
  • Chair candidate feedback sessions with Hiring Managers and other collaborators as required.
  • Provide talent mapping mentorship and align recruitment strategy to build the best strategy for each search, including direct sourcing, networking and researching.
  • Acts as a primary contact with Candidates ensuring a strong Candidate experience throughout.
  • Maintain detailed records as well as provide comprehensive written reviews to Hiring Managers on interviewed or screened candidates.
  • Develop robust talent pipelines fitting with Seaspan’s Core Competencies.
  • Lead various projects related to such topics as talent branding, process improvement, candidate attraction, etc.

What you’ll bring

  • You will have 3-5 years demonstrable experience, both in-house and Agency, recruiting technical talent in large diverse organizations.
  • You have experience strategic sourcing including social media reach-outs (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook groups), demonstrating network contacts of Hiring Managers and Employees, and other creative sources.
  • You share your experience and standard methodologies with your Team Members and Hiring Managers to support recruitment, especially for difficult to fill assignments.
  • You know how to partner with front-line Hiring Managers to ensure the best hire for the position is found.
  • You have a sound understanding of the interconnected functions of HR and have demonstrable experience building positive relationships with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards and beyond.
  • You have successfully recruited international candidates
