Urology Consultants is a private specialist office in Halifax, NS. Currently, we have 10 Urologists on staff (each with their own Medical Office Assistant). Our physicians see patients at the Spring Garden Office, Cobequid Community Health Centre, Halifax Infirmary, Dartmouth General, and the Victoria General. The staff here book all patient appointments for all locations. As this is a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency are extremely important.

The ideal candidate for this position is highly organized, responsible and has a genuine interest in helping others achieve their goals. This role requires great attention to detail and superior time management skills as well as strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities include supporting the Medical Office Assistants with their day-to-day tasks. Some examples include:

• confirming patient appointments via phone
• folding and mailing patient appointments
• filing electronic documents
• entering appointments into various hospital programs (ie. Accuro, STAR, PHS)
• Calling patients to update Health History Questionnaires, obtain pharmacy information, etc.

Our office hours are 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. If candidate shows qualities mentioned above and excels in support position, there is a possibility of a permanent/full-time administrative position.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Salary: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
