Operator, Infrastructure Maintenance
Permanent Full- Time (40 hours/week)

We are currently recruiting for a permanent full-time Operator, Infrastructure Maintenance.
About the Opportunity:
Reporting to the Lead, Infrastructure Maintenance, the Operator, Infrastructure Maintenance is trained and proficient at operating equipment, including all City of Leduc heavy equipment and assets. Operators work in all types of weather and road conditions to achieve a high level of customer service, ultimately to ensure residents and visitors have an efficient and safe commute within corporate limits.
Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
- Operate heavy equipment for the purpose of road rehabilitation and maintenance including snow clearing and sanding
- Dust control and maintenance on gravel roadways and street sweeping on paved roadways
- Injection patching, pothole, crack and infrared repairs
- Maintenance of roadway markings and painting
- Preventative maintenance and flushing of sewers and existing sanitary line
- Catch basin and storm sewer maintenance including cleaning and thawing
- Inspection for safe operation of traffic signals, signs and lights., including emergency response to outages
- Participation in the on-call rotation to provide immediate response to emergency situations after hours
Qualifications:
You are the successful candidate for this position if you have the following:

- Grade 12 High School Diploma
- Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience in equipment operations, including operating heavy equipment
- Valid Class 3 Alberta vehicle Operator’s License; with Air Brakes
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize workload efficiently
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, to enable cohesive teamwork and promote positive internal/external customer service
- Supervisory experience, including training and leading crews, is an asset
- WHMIS, First Aid and OHS certifications are considered assets
- Municipal operation experience is an asset
- Must be willing to provide a current Driver’s Abstract at point of interview, at own expense
- Must be willing to provide a current Criminal Record Check, at own expense
