Passionate about the Arts and love working with children? Then apply to be an Education Assistant at the Burnaby Art Gallery! You’re driven to deliver quality educational programs to children and have the organizational know-how to see this through. You’re quick-on-your-feet, whether it’s answering questions from curious kids or adapting to changes in bookings and classes. You’re dedicated to making sure that everyone visiting the Burnaby Art Gallery has a memorable experience. Responsibilities for this position include reaching out to schools to arrange programs, scheduling bookings, assisting a supervisor in preparing and implementing educational programs, providing information to interested parties, and maintaining related files, records, and accounts. Performs related work as required.
To qualify, you must have completed Grade 12, preferably supplemented by courses relevant to teaching, early childhood development, and/or fine arts, plus some experience in educational programs. You should be highly organized and skilled in administrative duties, as you’ll be maintaining our booking schedule. You’re an exceptional communicator who can connect with teachers and children easily, and share Gallery information with patrons of all ages. You also have technical proficiency with online programs, computers, camera set-ups, and are familiar with various arts practices. Overall, you’re a helpful individual who’s driven to bring fantastic programs to kids. A Driver’s License for the Province of British Columbia is required.
Hours and shifts are dependent on operational requirements; typical shifts are Tuesday to Thursday, 9:30am-5:00pm.
