Job Description

Accent Care Home & Health Services is employing Certified Health Care Aides for permanent part-time position. To apply for this position, we request you have the following education, experience, skills, and physical acknowledgements:

Requirements

• Graduate of a recognized Health Care Aide program in Canada
• Current Child and Adult Abuse Registry Checks (less than 6 months)
• Recent criminal record check with vulnerable sector search (less than 6 months)
• Proof of vaccinations including: COVID-19, TB, MMR, etc.
• Valid CPR/FA training or willingness to obtain
• Experience working in Private Home Care preferred
• Must have experience working with patients/clients.
• Ability to deal effectively with agitated clients
• Ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload
• Ability to communicate verbal and written in English
• Ability to respond to variety of simultaneous demands
• Must be willing to work in various locations throughout the city and outside the city.
• Applicants MUST be available on days, evenings, weekends, on call and be available for various of shifts in client’s home and facilities

Duties

• Assist clients with ADLs, including but not limited to bathing, dressing, feeding and other personal care services.
• Experience with transfers using Hoyer Lifts.
• Experience with transferring and transporting patients and equipment in the private and nursing home sector
• Provide home support services such as companionship, light housekeeping, meal preparation, bed making, chores assistance, etc.
• Remind clients of due medication and treatments
• Establish open communication with clients, their families, and the health care team
• Understands and implements infection control and prevention practices
• Observe company policies and protocols
• Complete other tasks as requested

License/Certification

• Health Care Aide Certificate
• Driver’s license (required)
• Own Vehicle (preferred)

Salary: $16 - $19 per hour

COVID-19 considerations

Safety of our staff and clients are one of our biggest concerns. During in home and facility shifts all staff are mandated to wear PPE and practice proper hand hygiene.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $16.00-$19.00 per hour
