The Prevention and Loss Management Services Branch is responsible for promoting assurance in the integrity of, and public confidence in, the administration of the BC Employment and Assistance (BCEA) Program.
The Manager, Operations plans and manages the operational delivery of prevention and compliance services and initiatives ensuring they maintain a balance that equitably supports program integrity, service delivery, and client needs.
This position assumes a leadership role in developing and maintaining key relations within the BC government, with federal and provincial government officials, and with external agencies. Job Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
- Degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or Business Administration and three (3) years related experience; OR
- Diploma in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or Business Administration and four (4) years related experience; OR
- Certificate in Social Sciences, Public Administration, or Business Administration and five (5) years related experience; OR
- Post-secondary or Grade 12 or equivalent and six (6) years related experience.
Related experience includes each of the following:
- Supervising a multi-disciplinary operational team with a minimum of one year supervising in a virtual environment.
- Working in a statutory decision-making/regulatory environment.
- Managing budgets.
- Resolving problems with interest holders in a client service environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of individuals or groups at various levels within and outside of the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple, high-priority tasks under pressure and meet critical deadlines.

- Willingness and ability to work additional hours during critical periods.
- Valid B.C. driver’s license.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 4 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
