The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking one dynamic Recreation Program Coordinator within the Parks, Recreation, Culture & Facilities department. As the successful candidate, you will coordinate and deliver a variety of sporting events and tournaments at Poirier Sport and Leisure Complex and the Poirier Forum. You will develop seasonal ice and dryfloor allocation base on the sports organization request and City allocation policy. You also be responsible for supporting the ice recreational programs from time to time.

You will also utilize your strong relationship building skills to maintain effective relationships with a variety of internal and external contacts, as well as to develop interest and involvement from the community in your programs offered. Finally, you will use your excellent oral and written communication skills to communicate your ideas and viewpoints effectively. If you are passionate about community recreation, and working with a wide variety of people, we look forward to your application!

The successful candidate will have completed a university or community college program with a degree or diploma in community recreation or related discipline plus sound related supervisory or volunteer coordination experience. Please note that an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. A Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia (with satisfactory driving record) is required. The successful candidate will be required to work some evening and weekends.

Please note that the following are all considered assets of the position: experience in ice and dry floor allocation, experience organizing special events and tournaments, and experience in working with a variety of sports organizations.

The CUPE hourly rate of pay is $32.87 - $38.68 (2022 rates) along with comprehensive health & wellness benefits and an earned day off program is offered.
