Job Summary/Basic Function
We are looking for a skillful and dedicated specialist to join our dynamic Police Services Team as a Forensic Video Analyst. You will provide forensic video analysis, which includes scientifically analyzing and processing forensic video evidence at a technical level from multi-media hardware and software, along with preparing reports and providing expert testimony in court to validate evidence.
Duties
- Scientifically analyzes and processes forensic video evidence at an analytical or technical level from multi-media hardware and software
- Prepares reports and provides expert testimony in court to validate evidence
- Provides subject-matter expertise and instruction in forensic video analysis and video evidence
- Operates, maintains, researches, tests, and recommends specialized multi-media hardware and software
- Visits various sites to retrieve evidence
- Views imagery of a sensitive, graphic and disturbing nature while carrying out duties, sometimes for prolonged periods of time
- Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures in relation to exhibit handling
- Knowledge of forensic terminology
Qualifications
- Two year Diploma in a related discipline (i.e. Video/Digital production and editing, television production)
- Certified Forensic Video Analyst (CFVA) program through LEVA
