Full Description

This position reports to the Director of Economic Development.

The role is part of the team within the Economic Development Department which focuses on building tax base, generating building permits, growing the City’s population and adding value to the City’s Economic Development prospects, leads, customers and clients.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing communications and marketing strategies, initiatives and programs. This includes planning, positioning, implementing and monitoring campaigns to targeted audiences. Specifically, this includes planning, writing and producing communications, marketing materials, social media content and campaigns to achieve client acquisition, desired results and outcomes.

This position requires solid strategic and tactical skills relating to communications and marketing, media relations, digital communications and project management as well as the ability to be a self-starter working within deadlines.

This position will provide quality customer service and will often function as the first point of contact with customers and for the department.

The role is responsible for coordinating and delivering on the day-to-day administrative activities of the Economic Development Department.

Plans the logistics related to press conferences, press releases, outreach activities and events/functions hosted by the Economic Development Department and/or team.

Assists in preparing funding applications for initiatives, or projects.
