The Information Services Division are technology leaders, planning and delivering successful solutions with information management and information technology (IM/IT) services to both the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction and the Ministry of Children and Family. The division also provides IM/IT resource planning, decision-making, project and issues management, security and privacy functions, and desktop support. Our guiding principle is to promote a service delivery culture that is respectful, fosters positive relationships, and promotes creative problem solving with all our staff and partners in the Social Sector.
The Technical Analyst provides coordination and expertise in installing, testing, tuning upgrading and maintaining shared systems software and hardware, including providing 2rd Tier problem resolution and senior technical guidance to ministry IT staff, users, customers and vendors for line of business applications and hardware.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field plus a minimum of 2 years *related experience; OR, other related education and a minimum of three (3) years *related experience
- An Equivalent combination of education and *related experience may be considered.
- Related experience must include ALL the following, to equal three (3) years or more of experience:
- Experience in assessing customer requirements, developing and implementing technical and business solutions.
- Experience providing tiered technical customer support.
- Experience working in a high volume, fast paced service delivery environment (for example, Service Desk, Workplace Technologies).
- Experience applying ITIL best practices.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience working in the Social Sector.
- Experience working with SQL and other scripting languages.
- Experience submitting and reviewing fulfilment requests in a ticket management system (e.g. ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
- Two (2) or more years experience in the IM/IT sector.

Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This position can be based out of any of the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction office location(s) listed above.
