Executive Assistant/Bookkeeper Wanted

This is truly a unique opportunity - it is NOT your traditional office job. I am a compulsive entrepreneur who is not happy unless I’m juggling several balls in the air at one time. I operate multiple business ventures and am seeking a dedicated and long-term Executive Assistant / Bookkeeper, who can work with me for the rest of my business career (25-30 years+).

The mission of the Executive Assistant/Bookkeeper is to take care of and manage everything that gets in the way of me doing what ONLY I can do.

In this role, you will directly support my entrepreneurial activities which span across business consulting, marketing, apartment building developments, and partnerships & investments in various companies. Your mission is to handle and streamline all administrative tasks that get in the way of my focusing on strategic work.

As an Executive Assistant, you will manage my email, my calendar, liaise with clients and business partners, prepare and review correspondence, coordinate travel, and take meeting minutes. Your love for Excel and QuickBooks Online will be put to great use, as you'll not only handle basic bookkeeping entries for my companies but also perform detailed data analysis and prepare financial reports. The right candidate for this role should be more excited than anyone should be when discussing spreadsheets and have prior experience with basic bookkeeping. If you’re not yet comfortable with QuickBooks Online, you’ll quickly learn.

This position is NOT for everyone. It will be demanding, tough and very challenging at times. I am a very honest, respectable and likeable boss (if I do say so) but have been told that I have very high standards and can be impatient with others. So, you must be ready to pull your weight and be open to receiving honest and direct feedback. There will be numerous challenges daily, so I need someone who is smart and has a thirst for knowledge.

To excel in this position, you need to be an organizational whiz, able to anticipate needs, take initiative to solve problems before they arise, possess exceptional organizational skills and a natural inclination for being meticulous and thorough in every task. A service-oriented attitude, combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality, is a must.

This is a full-time position working out of my small private office on the north side of Fredericton, during normal business hours. Flexibility is important as the role requires occasional availability during evenings and weekends for urgent needs.
