Across its districts, NSPHA provides more than 11,200 safe, affordable homes as part of its Housing Services to seniors and families. District offices manage the day-to-day operations of Nova Scotia’s housing stock. Their responsibilities include administering tenant applications and placements, collecting rent, resolving tenant issues, and maintaining and repairing properties.

About Our Opportunity

Under the direction of the Manager, Financial Services for Cape Breton District the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the protection, issuance and receipt of all materials and supplies and to ensure the safeguarding of CB keys, locks and cores.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Receive materials and supplies for inventory by checking quantities of materials and supplies received against packing slips; and inspecting goods received to ensure no damaged goods are accepted.
  • Prepare material work orders for stock issued and obtaining required signatures.
  • Safekeeping and security of duplicate keys and locks by ensuring that all duplicate keys and cores for lock changes are kept secure.
  • Maintain up to date and accurate inventory.
  • Participate in the annual physical count.
  • Meet with potential vendors who want to bid on supplying items for CB district.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 or high school equivalent, plus four years related experience.
  • At least three years experience supervising diverse employee groups, including unionized and non-unionized staff.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and hardware parts and a good knowledge of inventory procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of key control; key cutting; locks; and core pinning.
  • Competency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Possess a valid Nova Scotia driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.


  • Knowledge of Yardi Property Management software.
