Integrated Justice Services is seeking a well-rounded professional to join the Strategic Systems and Innovation (SSI) branch.

Who We Are

The Strategic Systems and Innovation Branch provides direction in information management and information technology (IM/IT) to support business strategies and enable strategic priorities. We serve both the Ministry of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety and the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General. Our branch employs individuals who can thrive within the increasingly dynamic nature of program delivery in the public sector.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a well-rounded professional to join us in a permanent full-time position as a Technical Business Analyst in Regina. This position will be of interest to an individual with a background in business and data analysis, excellent organizational and communication skills, and who thrives on supporting the team in the delivery of critical tasks on a day-to-day basis.

The successful candidate will work with the Program Manager as well as the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics (BIDA) team to:

  • Support business analysis activities in gathering and documenting high level data requirements;
  • Perform data and process validation between output (reports, dashboards) versus source of data from IJIMS systems;
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the team by making sure all reports generate successfully;
  • Setup meetings with stakeholders and document meeting minutes, capturing the outcomes of the meetings
  • Participates in joint sessions with business clients and/or subject matter experts in addressing business needs; and
  • Assist Program Manager and other management team members with project outcomes, participate in developing project charter, business case and other needed documentation.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced business and data analyst who has:

Knowledge of:

  • Business Analysis;
  • Data Analysis, validation, and testing; and
  • Process documentation using several tools/techniques.

Demonstrated ability to:

  • Write, explain, and present technical information to a variety of non-technical groups in a simple, clear, and concise manner;
  • Develop data mappings between source and target using tools like Excel;
  • Be client-focused, analytical, logical and visionary, organized, adaptable, creative, and respectful; and
  • Be an active listener that pays attention to detail with the ability to multi-task efficiently within the BI Team.

Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required to be successful in this position would have been obtained through:

  • The completion of a degree such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics with significant experience in related field; and/or
  • Completion of Business Analysis Diploma, or certifications, and/or significant related experience.
