Role
The Ministry of Skilled Trades and Professions has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Program and Data Coordinator to join our team!
The Program and Data Coordinator leads and supports multiple projects simultaneously. Integrated project analysis, evaluation and reporting is prepared and presented to the Manager.
This position works with program areas and department or external stakeholder groups regularly to support collaborative and integrated information sharing and decision-making and to facilitate transitions to new or revised program operations. The Coordinator works with a team to support the design and implementation of methodologically sound analytics and monitoring and evaluation activities to assess and inform programs, services, initiatives and policies. The position brings acumen and advice to the division regarding data analysis, research, quality assurance, and program development and implementation.
You will be reporting to the Manager, Program Implementation.
- Support the design and redesign of programs and services through collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Complete research, data analysis, and forecasting and evaluation activities to understand trends, results and gaps.
- Identify, evaluate and utilize new or expanded data from internal and external sources to address gaps or emerging issues/opportunities.
- Working within a team to develop and implement data collection instruments, collection and analysis.
- Contribute to the development of policy, regulations, or strategies; in particular by applying a data analysis and evaluation lens to the work.
- Develop and manage the full lifecycle of contracts and grants.
- Support budget management by providing analysis, data and recommendations.
- Manage assigned projects, typically smaller in scale, or components of larger projects.
- Provide the Manager with advice and recommendations for emerging issues, opportunities and challenges.
- Develop information products, including briefings, narratives, presentations, reporting templates and visuals.
Qualifications
Requirements:
University graduation in a related field plus 2 years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
- Experience in program development, implementation and/or operations.
- Knowledge and experience in data analysis, evaluation and quality assurance.
- Experience coordinating projects.
- Ability to create diverse documents, visuals, tools and presentations to suit diverse audiences, including infographics and diagrams.
- Knowledge of government contract and grant management policies and procedures.
- Strong ability to develop clear/concise written reports, briefings, letters, executive summaries, action requests, etc.
- Organization and prioritization skills to balance multiple ongoing projects at one time, and able to meet tight timelines.

Salary
$2,588.06 to $3,397.76 bi-weekly ($67,548 to $88,681/yearly)

This is a permanent, full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This position is based in Edmonton.
