The Operator 2 will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of a variety of mechanical equipment such as: 3 ton truck, 3 ton garbage packer with air brakes, tractor loaders (under one yard), riding mowers, light automotive vehicles (ie. Gators, ATV's), Argo, snowmobiles, etc.

Conditions of Employment:

• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada

• Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Full Class 5 Driver's license with the ability to acquire and maintain full air brake endorsement within 60 days of obtaining OR2 position.
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position, including lifting weights up to 50 lbs and working in various types of outdoor conditions.
• Must be willing and able to work weekends, shift work and holidays.

Qualifications:
Essential:

• Experience operating and maintaining mechanical equipment such as: 3 ton truck, 3 ton garbage packer with air brakes, tractor loaders (under one yard), etc.
• Experience in construction, maintenance and grounds keeping.
• Experience operating and maintaining small equipment such as riding mowers, light automotive vehicles (ie. Gators, ATV's), tractors, Argo, snowmobiles, chainsaws, brush saws, push mowers.
• Experience with Workplace Safety and Health risk management issues related to the operation mechanical equipment and vehicles.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Experience working independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to interact effectively with the public and co-workers and deal with stressful situations.

Desired:

• Ability to keep and maintain written records.
• Supervisory experience.
